Ifanadiana Bioclim

Bioclim V2.1 data for the period 1970-2000 are a set of 19 bioclimatic variables derived from monthly temperature and precipitation values. These original data, at a spatial resolution of around 1 km², are static, representing climatological averages over a defined reference period (1970-2000). These variables have been aggregated at fokontany and commune level, taking the spatial average within the polygons of each administrative zone.

- fid : numeric id of Commune / fokontany
- new_commune : commune name after 2019
- old_commune : commune name before 2019
- comm_fkt : name of fokontany using standardized ‘new_commune’_’fokontany’ nomenclature
- bio_1 : Annual Mean Temperature (°C)
- bio_2 : Mean Diurnal Range (°C) (Annual mean of (Tmax - Tmin))
- bio_3 : Isothermality (%) ((BIO2/BIO7) × 100)
- bio_4 : Temperature Seasonality ((Temperature standard deviation) × 100))
- bio_5 : Max Temperature of Warmest Month (°C)
- bio_6 : Min Temperature of Coldest Month (°C)
- bio_7 : Temperature Annual Range (°C)(BIO5 - BIO6)
- bio_8 : Mean Temperature of Wettest Quarter (°C)
- bio_9 : Mean Temperature of Driest Quarter (°C)
- bio_10 : Mean Temperature of Warmest Quarter (°C)
- bio_11 : Mean Temperature of Coldest Quarter (Mean temperature of coldest consecutive three months)
- bio_12 : Annual Precipitation (mm)
- bio_13 : Precipitation of Wettest Month (mm)
- bio_14 : Precipitation of Driest Month (mm)
- bio_15 : Precipitation Seasonality ((Precipitation standard deviation / Precipitation mean) × 100)
- bio_16 : Precipitation of Wettest Quarter (mm)

Processing steps Data aggregation by fokontany/commune using spatial average (weighted mean). The average value was calculated using Google Earth Engine's reducer function, which computes a weighted mean based on the proportion of each pixel area that falls within the polygon boundary.
